In November if 2000, WATCH ME BURN was conceived by a screamer Sawa, guitar player
Kevin Fetus, drummer Rusty Reens and bass player Russ Herpich. Right off the bat, WMB took an
impromptu fist and shoved it firmly beneath the undercurrents of what was accepted as
GRINDCORE in Los Angeles. WMB considers themselves a dirty-sludgy-grind type of thrash
band with a hint of psychedelic ambience. They write songs that they want to hear, with
enormous weight. Some might call them avante-grind.
Watch Me Burn’s new album AT THE STAKE is a new approach to tuning. There are elements
of doom, crust, thrash, grind and intermittent bursts of jazz and funk. AT THE STAKE
was recorded at LMU by Christian LaRocca and Mastered by Pig Destroyer/Visceral Sound’s
Scott Hill. Cover art is by New York’s acclaimed painter and artist Zak Smith.
