Biography
After playing countless numbers of shows since 2004 across the Ottawa Valley and opening for the likes of Jeff Healey and the Five Man Electrical Band, Black Cherry decided to start a new chapter.Changing from something you know and have loved for many years is something that is very difficult to do and the members of Black Cherry are no different. With a plethora of musical tastes and backgrounds ranging from hard rock to folk to pop to jazz and blues, Black Cherry shows no limitations with their writing ability and style. This is emphasized by the fact that they are in the process of recording their 4th CD, entitled 'Defying Gravity and which will be released in late October of this year. The 11 song CD, is a blues-rock flavor and includes an instrumental song, Minuet in the Basement, as well as a song that was written by the band as the winning song in a competition for a theme song for the Ottawa Fat Cats Baseball Team. They are releasing it independently as a testament to all of their hard work over the last year and a half.
